Lamb of God (sung version)

Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world;
Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world;
Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world;
Grant us your peace.

For this poor world and for us poor souls: may it be.

The tortoise (slow, focused)
outperformed the hare (fast, distracted).

The outcome hasn't changed since Aesop first reported on the matter.

Outperform.

Take it slow.

Between God and a Hard Place

Las Vegas. Puerto Rico. Syria. Myanmar. Violence. Destruction. I think many of us feel we or our loved ones are “between a rock and a hard place” these days – so much going on, so much suffering, so much destruction.  These times can make us wonder if God is really there.  I believe God really is there, for each one of us, in every situation, no matter how bad it may seem.  We are always between God and a hard place.  God is always an option for us.  Are we willing to lean in to those strong, loving, everlasting arms, no matter what?

Guest artist Michael Ferguson playing Chopin

Today I’m glad to be sharing music played by my friend Michael Ferguson – Chopin’s Nocturne in E Major.  Enjoy the music and the video of Lake Superior.

Grace and peace to you…

I hope you don’t mind that I share non-musical posts from time to time that I think fit well with the overall theme of quiet vs. noise. I liked this quote from a blog I follow – if you’re an introvert, you might want to check it out.

We are Bosnia

This idea started in the ’90s during the Bosnia conflict – seems quite appropriate in our time, too.

We Are Bosnia
Words and music by dw, copyright © 2017

We are Bosnia,
We are Jerusalem,
We are Ireland,
You and me.
We have hearts that won’t heal,
Arms raised in rage;
We can’t outlive our memories.
We can’t outlive our memories.

(Instrumental verse)

Heaven, won’t you grant us your peace?
God, why don’t you take this hate away?
Are we never gonna let our anger cease?
Oh…   Oh…
Oh…   Oh…

We are Bosnia
in our families,
Jerusalem
in our neighborhoods;
We are Ireland
in our schoolyards.
We can’t outlive our memories.

Heaven, won’t you grant us your peace?
God, why don’t you take this hate away?
Are we never gonna let our anger cease?
Oh…   Oh…
Oh…   Oh…

We are Bosnia, we are Bosnia, we are Bosnia, we are Bosnia…
