Saint Patrick, part 2 – Christ be with me

As promised last week, here is part two of my setting of the hymn known as St. Patrick’s Breastplate. Posted here is the piano accompaniment; maybe in the future I can post the whole hymn, sung.

The text for part two is very familiar:

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,

Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

May Christ be with us and in us and all around us in these perilous days.
